Boxing classes are not only for professionals!

Boxing has been around since the dawn of civilization with the earliest version of the organized sport dating back to the Greeks as an Olympic game event (circa 688 BC). Gaining popularity over many years, boxing professionals take part in competition at various levels including international tournaments by representing their country. Professional boxers train in boxing gyms with specialized trainers. However, it is not true that boxing gyms only train professional or amateur fighters. Many people take boxing classes because they love the sport, and unlike professional fighters, they do not have any intention of joining professional fighting clubs. It is their love for the sport and desire to keep fit that drives them to boxing gyms.

Boxing gyms were originally started to train fighters but recent trends have shown ordinary people seek training here who want to try new things to keep themselves fit. Boxing training is the ultimate workout that benefits the trainee in various ways, physically as well as mentally. Training in boxing helps in building strength endurance, power and coordination in the body. But boxing is more than about hitting and throwing punches. Though it challenges people physically, there is a mental game people learn that can be described as being similar to chess.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu empowering women and children

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is becoming increasingly popular among women and children as it helps to empower them and shape them in order to be effective in self-defense, and also develop their strength and endurance level.

Women Jiu- Jitsu

It is one of the most popular and practical forms of martial arts for women and children as it provides the means to be able to defend themselves in a multitude of different possible situations. It is a martial art form that is based on ground techniques, which is different than many of the different forms of martial arts. It is developed on the premise that most of the techniques adopted in fighting and gripping become of no use once they fall on the ground. Jiu-Jitsu helps tremendously because it provides techniques that can be applied while being on the ground, which will help gain control over even the strongest of opponents.

Children Jiu-Jitsu

Simple moves can inspire women to successfully defend themselves against the any attacker if need be. Even children develop a greater sense of self-confidence in order to face the bullying elements in school and on the streets.  Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes involve rigorous training and practice of different types of moves and grips. Regular training helps in keeping the body fit and muscles toned, and helps in enhance greater mind and body coordination. This helps people to learn to control their mind even in situations of crisis. Sweating out on the ground daily can be a great stress buster and helps people in greater control of their aggression. The negative energy is channelized in maintaining a fit body. Once people feel strong and know that they are capable enough to defend themselves, they will continue to grow.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu empowering women

Brazilian Jiu jitsu is gaining worldwide popularity among women for self-defense. It is a form of martial art that focuses on self-defense techniques through special holds. Brazilian Jiu-jitsu teaches women to escape from any dangerous situation and helps them to maintain their confidence.

brazilian jiu jitsu

Gracie Barra is the founder of modern Jiu-Jitsu which has originated from Kodokan Judo fundamentals which is a ground fighting technique. It is based on grappling and ground fighting; hence women can fight the opponent whether she is on her feet or on the ground. It promotes the concept that a small and weak person can overpower bigger and stronger opponent by using proper techniques and leverage. Bringing him down on the ground can mitigate the powerful strikes and blows of the opponent. The techniques are based on body mechanism rather than strength, speed and weight used in other martial art forms. There are no criteria for learning this art form. The techniques of Jiu-jitsu can be used effectively by anyone irrespective of any size, weight and strength and fitness level.

Jiu-Jitsu training involves various areas of practice from groundwork, to grappling techniques. A regular training session would include cardiovascular exercising, stretching, breathing and resisting workout. This helps to build up strength, flexibility and endurance in the body. Students also learn falling skills without getting hurt, patience and discipline. Employing the techniques of Jiu jitsu requires working on the timing of the action. It is also a great stress reducer as any training session involves practicing and using very complex techniques, which can tire one’s mind. Being taught with a mindset to never to lose hope in the worst and toughest situation, women get complete training for any situation they may face.

Apart from learning self-defense techniques, it helps women to build up their strength. By undergoing Jiu-Jitsu training, women become physically and mentally strong, relieve the stress from day to day life, do not suffer from insomnia and face less cramps during their menstrual cycle.

Are workout classes at the gym just a trend?

Many people don’t take gym classes seriously since they can workout at home. For these people, gym classes appear to be trendy social events and a commercialized way for gyms to make money. This is completely an old school way of thought. People who go to the gym have understood the importance of remaining fit and attending gym classes that suit their lifestyle.

In our crazy busy lifestyles it is not possible for everyone to take time for an early morning walk or exercise at home. The gym classes provide convenient times to exercise and experience different techniques, along with tips about nutrition. Exercising without complete understanding of its impact on the body can be very dangerous and could lead to injuries. A nutritious diet is also very important in keeping fit and a good source of energy for workouts.

Different types of exercises are available to work different parts of the body. Gym classes have progressed in terms of the benefits they provide. Innovative techniques create interest and increases involvement with new programs. In many classes, new things are being introduced daily.

Gym classes do help in socializing with other people and helps to see what someone else is doing. This is a good way to expand a current fitness program with something new. Gym classes also help to maintain the discipline to keep fit. There is a greater chance of working out if you get up and go to the gym instead of planning to workout at home. Cardio Kickboxing is the latest trend in the fitness industry

Every industry and market needs to continuously reinvent itself in order to remain current and relevant with customers. Products come and go making innovation the key to survival. Treadmills and other workout machines in gyms are losing their attraction and paving the way for new types of exercise. Cardio kickboxing is the latest trend. It uses the techniques of kick boxing in an up-tempo format to create a cardio fitness experience.

Cardio Kickboxing

Cardio kickboxing was developed by martial art champion Frank Thiboutot, in 1992. It is a mix of kickboxing, other martial art forms and includes aerobic exercises. Cardio kickboxing is becoming popular among both men and women to keep themselves fit and strong. It is done without an opponent and without any contact, making it safe for all ages and skill levels. Many of the techniques lead to greater control over the body with an increased sense of balance. It targets the arms, shoulders, abs, thighs and butt in a single workout. Continual flexing of muscles makes them strong and stretching leads to muscles relaxation. Cardio kickboxing also acts as mental stimulant and instills confidence. An Intense cardio kickboxing workout can burn 500 to 800 calories, which is significantly higher than many other workouts. In addition to improved strength, power, flexibility, coordination and balance, it also acts as a great stress reliever. It does not require nothing but standard gym clothing and athletic shoes. Punching bags, pads, gloves and jump ropes may also be used with this type of workout.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu provides physical and mental fitness

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is becoming more popular, especially with women and children. It was developed and started by Carlos Gracie based on the grappling methods performed in Judo. It is a martial art form that subscribes to a philosophy of proper techniques and body leverage can overpower any opponent, regardless of the size and strength of that opponent. It involves bringing the opponent to the ground by leveraging the position of the body where the impact and power of the attack are largely reduced. This is where overpowering the opponent happens using proper techniques. The use of these techniques and body mechanics is the core of Jiu-Jitsu. Other martial arts rely solely on power, strength and speed.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu involves a lot of cardio exercise in order to build up strength and endurance. Stretching, proper breathing and resistance training is very important. The training makes the body strong and flexible. The moves and techniques are practiced to perfection since the use of proper technique at the correct time is the strength of this martial art. Many of the Jiu-Jitsu moves are complex and practicing them over and over can be physically tiring and mentally exhausting. However, pushing the physical and mental limits can results in lowered stress and increased relaxation. This type of training program becomes very helpful in our daily lives.

Jiu-Jitsu with self-defense training can be very useful in many life-threatening situations. It helps people to become capable of defending themselves. Everything taught during training brings patience and self- discipline. It also leads to heightened mind and body coordination where strength is boosted to a high level of flexibility. The training instills courage to move outside of one’s comfort zone by helping to suppress panic and fear in a threatening situation. It also helps in making good decisions in desperate conditions. Despite the fact that Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu can be very intense, it can be extremely useful and a lot fun.

The Growing Craze for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is becoming very popular among people, especially women. It is being seen as self-defense technique that can be learned by all age groups, no matter their size or strength. It is a martial art technique that involves using locking tactics and leverage to overpower opponent. Women not only find it helpful in defending themselves in dangerous situations, but also keeping them fit.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu has its roots in Judo, which is a ground fighting martial art form. Carlos Gracie founded Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and made it popular among people around the world. It is a martial art form that focuses on grappling and ground fighting. It is based on the assumption that even a weak person can overpower a stronger opponent by using certain techniques and leverage. It involves methods where the attack and blows of the opponent can be prevented and overpowered by bringing him/her down on the ground. It emphasizes body mechanisms rather than strength, speed and weight, which is the focus in other martial art forms. The experienced grappler normally has a higher advantage than those who solely rely on physical strength. The idea is to bring the opponent on the ground using proper techniques and leverage. Once the opponent is down, the grappler can use various techniques such as submission hold, side control, joint locks, back mount etc. to control the opponent. Jiu-Jitsu training involves rigorous cardiovascular exercising, grappling techniques and building up stamina and resistance.

Apart from women, it is fast becoming popular among kids, as they teach them the lessons of patience and discipline. It also teaches them to keep their spirits high and never to give up even in the worst of situations.

A brief introduction to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ)

Often translated as “the gentle art”, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) pulls it’s roots from the martial art Kodokan Judo ground fighting fundamentals. Founded and created by Carlos Gracie, today this art form is known worldwide as a form of martial, self defense system and as a combat sport.

women jiu jitsu

It was the Judo knowledge of Carlos and Helio Gracie, who brought Brazilian Jiu Jitsu into existence by setting their own sets of experimentation, modifications and practices into it. Broadly focusing on the techniques of grappling and ground fighting, Jiu Jitsu usually involves the utilization of natural body leverage so as to provide greater hold for striking and submission.

The basic concept of BJJ is to provide dominant control to a weaker and smaller person over a stronger and bigger assailant. This is accomplished by using proper techniques of BJJ, joint locks and chokeholds. Moreover, the fundamentals of BJJ can also be used in training of mixed martial arts competition, sport grappling tournaments and in self defense mechanisms.

In Brazil, BJJ has been further categorized under four branches, namely:

        1.Gracie Humaita Jiu Jitsu

        2.Gracie Barra Jiu Jitsu

        3.Carlson Gracie Jiu-Jitsu     and

        4.Alliance Jiu Jitsu.

Today, Brazilian jiu jitsu is considered:

  • A way of building and shaping character in young people.
  • A method of promoting physical fitness, and
  • A way to shape the “code of conduct” for leading a healthy and happy life.

Like every other form of martial art, Brazilian jiu jitsu uses a proper uniform which is worn while performing this form of art. Commonly, the uniform of BJJ is known as “brazilian jiu jitsu gi”; where the japanese term “gi” stands for the whole outfit. Made up of a heavy cotton jacket and a pair of reinforced trousers, it is said to be complete when wore with a belt which not only keeps the jacket close but also signifies the grade of the wearer.

How join boxing class?

If boxing is your hobby and somehow down the line you are thinking to become a professional boxer, limiting your hobby within your home would be a mistake you should rectify now.  Join a boxing class, but before you do, it is important that you are informed about what constitutes a good boxing club. Joining any boxing class and expecting great quality performance is a futile thing. So, here are some important tips about why join a boxing club and how to literally choose one?

A professional boxing class concerned about imparting value class and knowledge to its attendees would be sponsored or guided by professional boxers. Company of  professional boxers mean you can readily avail value knowledge and that you need not to worry about type of training provided. A professional boxer knows exactly what to teach. Ignore a boxing class hosted by hobbyist

A professional boxing gym class is a club that receives positive feedback from attendees. Ask people who’ve already joined the class. Asking an alumni about nature and type of training means you can be assured of genuine feedback.

A professional boxing class should have consultancy and training charge depending on the nature of training. Boxing class differ and type of training change as per the complexity of training. If a class charges a flat price for any training, please be wary and ask for a customised training charge.

Learning boxing is important if you need to perform professionally. But if you are not joining a professional class, you can’t necessarily expect quality result. So choose your class wisely.

How you choose your fitness club impacts how you grow your health

Recent studies have been conducted to determine how people choose an amateur MMA or men’s fitness club. The result indicates that people look to online sites and social media to help make their decision. However, it often turns out that their personal preferences and ideas differ when it comes to actually using a fitness club. People often listen to advertisement claims from TV and the Web, to then find out the fitness club doesn’t actually fit into their budget or personal requirements. That is why it is important to choose a fitness club, or amateur MMA gym, that is the right fit for you. How do you know if the club you are looking at is the right place to join? Personal research.

The Internet is a good place to look to know if the club you are looking at is worth joining. The first step is to compare the feedback of the fitness club you want to join. Why ask people on social media open-ended questions about which clubs to join? Ask close-ended questions with a provision for elaboration. These questions receive personalized feedback and people will even give comparisons of the brand to you.

The next step is to actually go into the gym and examine the facility to determine if you should become a member. By comparing feedback, credibility anda gym’s ability to host updated fitness products, you will be able to make a well-educated decision on what gym to join.
